Haber vs A ver

Haber = auxiliary verb / hay: Puede haber problemas. (There may be problems.)
A ver = let's see: A ver, ¿qué tenemos? (Let's see, what do we have?)
Test: can you replace with "let's see"? → a ver. Otherwise → haber.

Hecho vs Echo

Hecho = done/fact (from hacer): El trabajo está hecho. (The work is done.)
Echo = I throw (from echar): Echo la basura. (I throw out the trash.)
Te echo de menos. (I miss you.) — echar, not hacer!

Hay vs Ahí vs Ay

Hay = there is/are: Hay un gato. (There is a cat.)
Ahí = there (location): Está ahí. (It's there.)
¡Ay! = ouch / oh: ¡Ay, me duele! (Ouch, it hurts!)
