Indicative: the "real world" mood

Contains all the tenses you use for facts and statements

Future: Hablaré mañana. (I'll speak tomorrow.)
Conditional: Hablaría si pudiera. (I would speak if I could.)

This is the default mood — use it unless you have a reason to switch.

Subjunctive: the "filter" mood

Used when the action is filtered through someone's perspective

Doubt: No creo que sea verdad. (uncertainty filters it)
Emotions: Me alegra que estés aquí. (emotion filters it)
Future time clauses: Cuando llegue... (hasn't happened yet)
Hypothetical: Si pudiera... (unreal scenario)

Same sentence, different mood = different meaning
